World's first Snoopy Museum newly opened in Roppongi, Tokyo on April 23rd! This is where you can enjoy Snoopy and Peanut World to the fullest. You'll be in love with adorable Peanut cartoons!

Snoopy Museum Tokyo newly opened in Roppongi on April 23th 2016! Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center in Santa Rosa is well known as “a mecca” for Peanuts and Snoopy fans and Snoopy Museum Tokyo is the world’s first “Snoopy Museum”. In the museum, the original pictures of cartoon Peanuts, old collections of Charles M. Schulz and many rare and precious goods are on display. They will be replaced every 6 months.

You will encounter 5 adorable “welcome snoopy” soon after you enter the site. One is running on four feet or expressing his happiness by dancing! One is dressed with sunglasses and sweat shirt and looks like a young folk in 1970’s.

“My Favorite Peanut” is held inside the building as opening exhibition from April 23rd to September 25th. Highlight of the exhibition is Charles M. Schulz’s original pictures selected by his wife, Jean Schulz. For instance, a present of valentine’s day on 1985 is a monochrome cartoon colored, message from Schulz and “red colored heart”. This special Peanut cartoon is open to public for world’s first time!

Furthermore, special exhibition by enthusiastic Peanut fans from some fields is held. Well known people such as Shuntaro Tanikawa, Banana Yoshimoto and Atsuko Maeda introduce their favorite Peanut including movies and treasured items. Cartoon written by Schulz before Peanut called “Li’l Folks” and more than 150 rare goods are also exhibited. You will feel Schulz’s roots through experiencing those exhibits.

After enjoyable exhibits, souvenir shop called “Brown’s Store” is waiting for you! They have more than 500 items such as stuffed animals, stationery, general goods, foods and jewelry collaborated with AHKAH. Some goods can be purchased only in this store! Another enjoyable moment will come to you in the store by “meeting”, touching and choosing souvenirs. Let’s find your favorite Peanut there!

“Cafe Blanket” is the best place to fill your both appetite and heart! The cafe is American west coast themed and they serve a special dish called “Snoopy Dish Combo” as Schulz’s favorite! Schulz’s favorite tuna sandwich, peanut butter, french flies and small corn dog are all in one bowl with a snoopy flag. Not only the special dish, there are many other dishes such as dessert pizza called “Snoopy’s Favorite” and a milk shake called “My Sweet Baboo”.

 

Where & How to Buy the Ticket

For those who lives outside of Japan, you can purchase a ticket through e-mail. Please send an e-mail to this address (info@snoopymuseum.tokyo) with your name, nationality, when you want to visit and numbers of ticket (Refer here more details). You will receive confirmation e-mail if your requested date is available. (If not, they will give you other options.) Then you print the e-mail out and show it at the entrance of museum. That is when you make a payment in either Japanese yen or credit card.

Advance ticket is also available at Lawson store if you understand Japanese. The ticket is recommended because it is 200 JPY cheaper than a day ticket and it is not sure if a day ticket will be available or not on each day. Please check with Ticket Information (Japanese) for purchase at Lawson.

1,800 JPY (Adult), 1,200 JPY (College students), 800 JPY (High school and Jr. high school students), 400 JPY (Youth 4 and up/elementary school students)

・A day ticket
2,000 JPY (Adult), 1,400 JPY (College students), 1,000 JPY (High school and Jr. high school students), 600 JPY (Youth 4 and up/elementary school students)
