6 Things to Do in Tokyo Haneda Airport While You Wait for Your Flight

With the increase of the passengers using the Haneda Airport, the airport has been adding more spots which attract the passengers. Let me introduce some of the great spots in the Haneda Airport.

In Tokyo area, Narita Airport used to be the only one international airport but in 2008 Haneda became another international airport in Tokyo area and airlines are increasing the international flights which leave and arrive at Haneda airport. Actually Haneda is much closer to the Tokyo metro area and very convenient for the travelers.

With the increase of the passengers using the Haneda Airport, the airport has been adding more spots which attract the passengers. Let me introduce some of the great spots in the Haneda Airport.

 

#1. Hakuhinkan Toy Park

They sell a wide range of toy goods which children in all ages would love. The great part of this store is that there is a 50m long slot car racing circuit. At JPY 200, you can enjoy the slot car racing in 5 minutes. You can bring your own slot car or rent one of the slot car stock in the store for fee. The slot car racing is very exciting and not only kids but also adults can enjoy it!

 

#2. Planetarium Starry Cafe

Can you imagine there is a planetarium in an airport? Haneda airport has it! The dome diameter is 10 meter and about 50 seats are available. From 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, you can enjoy tea and coffee with the planetarium projection of which theme is Airport City or Universe. From 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM the cafe becomes planetarium theater. 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM the cafe becomes a bar and you can enjoy planetarium projection of which theme is Planets or Galaxy.

Did you know the Hello Kitty is originated in Japan? The cute cat character is now very popular worldwide. This store offers a number of different Hello Kitty goods including its original gift items. A pancake in the shape of the Hello Kitty called Kongari-Yaki is cooked in the store. It is cute and tastes good.

 

#4. Edo Komichi

Edo Komichi is located at 4th floor of the terminal building. This place reproduces the street of the Japanese Edo period. With the symbolic arched wooden bridge leads you to the restaurant complex where you can enjoy wide variety of the great taste food.

 

#5. Duty Free Shopping Zone

If you like shopping, go to the 3rd floor of the terminal and you can find Duty Free Shopping Zone. As well as the high end bands like Chanel, Gucci, Rolex, you should check out Tokyo Souvenir Shop which offers good available only in Japan.

 

#6. Upper Deck Tokyo

In the Departure Lobby at 3rd floor, there is a food court named Upper Deck Tokyo. At the food court you will be amazed by a numerous kinds of tables and chairs which are gathered from all over the world. You can choose your favorite chair and table and enjoy excellent 8 different countries’ cuisine such as Turkish, Sri Lankan, Vietnamese.
