Japan’s Highest Ferris Wheel “Redhorse Osaka Wheel” Has Glass Floors!

Redhorse Osaka Wheel is a Ferris wheel established at the Lalaport EXPOCITY which is a large multipurpose commercial facility located in Osaka and newly opened on July 1, 2016.

What is Redhorse Osaka Wheel?

Redhorse Osaka Wheel is a Ferris wheel established at the Lalaport EXPOCITY which is a large multipurpose commercial facility located in Suita City, Osaka and newly opened on July 1, 2016. Redhorse Osaka is 123 meters tall and the highest Ferris wheel in Japan and the fifth highest in the world.

As well as the height of the Redhorse Osaka Wheel, something to be mentioned is its glass floor. You can view the landscape below from each gondola. You can have a great time with enjoying thrilling but magnificent scenery, if you are not acrophobia. It is just like an experience that you feel like flying through the air. It takes about 18 minutes to go around.

All 72 gondolas of Redhorse Osaka Wheel are comfortable because they are fully air-conditioned and wide seats are equipped. There are two “VIP gondolas” that equipped special seats, lights and interior. You will be able to have luxury and precious time there. It may suitable place when you would like to propose marriage to your sweetheart as it is the romantic space with beautiful night view of Osaka.

The capacity of regular gondola is 6 and VIP gondola is 4, so you can ride with your family and friends. It costs 1,000 yen including tax per person for regular ticket of regular gondola, 1,500 yen including tax per person for “fast 10 ticket” that you can ride on gondola about 10-minute waiting time, and 8,000 yen including tax per person for VIP ticket. Handicapped person and attendant can buy a ticket by 500 yen per person including tax by showing disability certificate. In addition, a child under 6 years old is required to be with an adult over 16 years old for riding on the gondola.

 

Where is the Redhorse Osaka Wheel Located?

EXPOCITY where the place the Redhorse Osaka Wheel exists was used as the venue of “Japan World Exposition” called as “Osaka Expo in 1970” held from March 14 to September 13, 1970 with the slogan, “Progress and Harmony of Mankind.” It was the first international exposition in Japan and Asia.

“Taiyo no To”, which means “Tower of the Sun” is known as the symbol of Osaka Expo. It was created by Japanese famous artist Taro Okamoto. You can view the tower under the gondola.

There are a café & bar where you can talk about your excitement and impression with your friends and family and an official shop where you can buy original goods for your souvenir after riding the Ferris wheel.
