First of all, I introduce “Cafe Bibliotic Hello!”, which decorates a lot of trendy items inside the cafe and packed books in bookshelf. Take your favorite book from the shelf on the wall or bring books you currently read. Time flies while you are sitting on a sofa and immersing yourself in reading books.

#2. Sarasa Nishijin

This cafe, Sarasa Nishijin, was renovated from hot spring inn, so it apparently doesn’t look like cafe as you imagine. Interior decoration looks old due to furniture and mysterious tiles.

What you should not miss at this cafe is the fried rice with a beef sinew hold by lettuce for 860 yen. Let’s try this special fried rice and read books at this retro cafe.

#3. Cafe 1001

In Cafe 1001, you can enjoy seasonal desserts and baked sweets while you’re getting comfortable. Soon after opening its entrance door, you can find a lot of books on your left, including magazines and photographic inventories. Though seats are small in number, you can secure enough space to be relaxed, so don’t worry and make yourself at home.

Why did this cafe become so popular? The answer is the chocolate mint parfait, which includes chocolate mint ice cream, chocolate cake, biscotti, mint gelee and granola. This special parfait is only served in summer, so if you are attracted by this mint parfait, don’t miss it! Also, this cafe organize some events sometimes, so you should check website before you visit.

#4. Kamogawa Cafe

Kamogawa cafe has different atmosphere from cafes above. It looks like an old apartment from outside, but once you step into the 2nd floor entrance, you can see a bit old western style room. Wooden interior accessories and high ceiling give you an open feeling.

If you get hungry while you read books, you should order some meals, a cake or an affogato which includes 3 scoops of ice cream.

As the last one, Elephant Factory Coffee is the cafe especially for adults, opening until late night in Kawaramachi. They serve coffee from long roasted ground bean, which generate rich taste. For those who love coffee,  there’s no place like Elephant Factory Coffee.

Almost all of you will want something sweet when you drink coffee, then order a cake there. Recommendation is the cheesecake because it has rich taste and melt in your mouth. This cafe is quiet, so it’s good to concentrate on studying and reading books.
