Ao no Dokutsu in Shibuya 2016-2017 is a Paradise of Blue Lights

The Ao no Dokutsu in Shibuya 2016-2017 is a blue winter wonderland. This winter illumination started in 2014 and it has come back for 2016! This blue cave of lights is sure to amaze.

Ao no Dokutsu, meaning the Blue Grotto is a beautiful blue illumination. This winter illumination started in 2014 on Naka-Meguro and it was very popular. This year the dazzling blue illumination is going to be held in Shibuya.

The first Ao no Dokutsu was held in Naka-Meguro in 2014, it was seen as a legendary illumination. This year’s illumination is going to be in Yoyogi Park, the site is going to be decorated with 5,500 blue LED lights that is going to stretch over 750 meters. In addition, the Zelkova trees in Yoyogi Park are going to be lined with blue lights and reproduce the fantastic “blue cave” for about 250 meters.

This is a must see illumination when in Tokyo for the 2016-2017 holidays. There are many winter illuminations all around Tokyo, they are great events for couples and families. Every illumination is a little different, so there will be something to enjoy every time.
