Huis Ten Bosch Flower & Light Kingdom 2016-2017 in Nagasaki has some very impressive winter illumination events and things to experience. Stay at the park to fully experience all of the exciting winter events.

Huis Ten Bosch is a short flight away from Tokyo, the amusement park is located in Nagasaki in the Kyushu Prefecture. The theme for 2016-2017 is a Flower & Light Kingdom. Well-known for the tulip festival in spring, the illumination at Huis Ten Bosch is a new winter attraction utilizing about 13 million lights all across the theme park. There are five main spots to see the illuminations. Grab a group of friends, bring your family, or invite that special someone to experience the large winter illumination at Huis Ten Bosch.


#1. The Light Dragon

Look up with awe at this world’s largest fire breathing illuminated dragon robot! Huis Ten Bosch introduces the Light Dragon as the highlight of this year’s winter illumination event. The dragon is 13 meters wide and 6.5 meters tall, breathing real fire up to 3 meters in length. A maximum of 6 people can ride on the back of the dragon, this should be an exciting experience especially for a family. The story of the Light Dragon is linked with the 3D projection mapping of the Light Waterfall, telling you how the dragon came to be, leading you into an enchanted world of the Light Dragon.


#2. Light Waterfall

Under the symbolic tower of Huis Ten Bosch’s Flower & Light Kingdom, there is a tall LED waterfall which is one of the main attractions at this winter event. Millions of colorful lights flow down the Light Waterfall from the height of 66 meters making it the tallest illumination waterfall in Japan. The overwhelming amount of colorful lights moving to create enchanting patterns will leave you speechless.


#3. Luminous Bungee Jump

Are you ready to literally dive into an ocean of dazzling lights? The night sparkles with beautiful winter illuminations at Huis Ten Bosch where you can experience bungee jumping into an ocean of lights. The 20 meter high bungee jump into the Art Garden of Light is very popular and you may need line up for an hour or so to experience it; but it is well worth the wait because it is one of the best spots to view the park’s illuminations.


#4. The Art Garden of Light

The Art Garden of Light is a must-see, 6,000 meters squared of blue waves radiate simultaneously with music, the scale is magnificent. The gorgeous display of geometric light patterns, music and moving lights enchant visitors of all generations. The Art Garden of Lights is at the center of the illuminations so you should have a chance to admire the fields of light spreading out beneath you and experience the spectacular collaboration of lights with music.


#5. Light and Fountain Canal

When a boat passes through, the Light and Music Fountain show starts! The Light and Fountain Canal Cruise takes you on a ride in the rainbow color illuminated canal with underwater illuminations and music timed water fountain shows. The Light and Fountain Canal Cruise is one of the most popular attractions, you can also enjoy the moving lights and fountain show from a bridge over the canal where you may find it nice to view the whole picture.


Hotels at Huis Ten Bosch

If you wish to stay in the enchanted world Huis Ten Bosch after the winter illuminations, there are four hotels in the park to choose from. Hotel Europe, Hotel Amsterdam, Hotel Forest Villa and Henna Hotel meaning “Unique Hotel”. Hotel Europe is the highest grade hotel of the four, offering the best service and the most comfortable stay. Hotel Amsterdam stands in the center of the park, allowing you to enjoy the park to the full extent. Hotel Forest Villa stands in the woods before a lake where pets are allowed. Henna Hotel is the world’s first hotel staffed by robots, where you will meet robots working at the check-in counter, this could be a unique experience during your trip.
