HATTIFNATT is a short four minute walk away from Koenji Station. There is also a branch in Kichijoji. Outside the shop you can see the exquisite menu on display, there is lunch and dessert options.
HATTIFNATT is very colorful and fun, there is a retro feeling to the art throughout the restaurant. This spot is very popular among women and children.
Once you enter, its a little different than you would think. The first floor has the entrance, kitchen, and bathroom; the dining area is on the second floor.
On the second floor, all of the walls are covered with cute drawings of animals, it looks like a jungle. Talk people should be careful because the ceilings are low.
The lighting is meant to create a calming and comfortable atmosphere. Sitting next to the cute animals is so relaxing, you can use the walkie-talkie to call a waiter over to order.
HATTIFNATT serves a wide variety of desserts. They have drinks such as coffee, tea, and cocktails. This time, I ordered the Pumpkin Mont Blanc. For drinks, I ordered a green tea latte and when it arrive I was surprised by the cute design on the top. The latte was not overly sweet, it had the perfect amount of milk and green tea.
What a cute design on the green tea. The waiter said I was supposed to mix the green tea and the design in the center. Its so cute I didn’t want to mix it, but I did anyway and it tasted great.
The original Mont Blanc was soft on the outside and the inside had a tough texture. When eaten together it matches perfectly. The original Mont Blanc and the green tea was the perfect combination.
The Pumpkin Mont Blanc was a little colder than usual. The outside was made with pumpkin and inside there apple cubes. The bottom had a pie crust and the cream on top was delicious. This is HATTIFNATT most popular dessert.
At HATTIFNATT, if you order more than one drink the second drink will be discounted 200 yen, so it’s best to come here with a friend. If you are even in Shinjuku looking for dessert, why not take a short trip over to Koenji to have tea and dessert at HATTIFNATT? Come enjoy a delicious dessert surrounded by cute drawing of animals.
